Just as tethering itself is a reaction to a race-based classification system that flattens difference and erases distinction between groups, divestment is a parallel reaction to the same structure—a survival mechanism designed to jump ship. Both are maladaptive responses to the same root trauma: a system that denies differentiated identity, autonomy, and self-worth.
Tethering seeks validation through attachment; divestment seeks survival through detachment. One imitates inclusion, the other abandons affiliation. Yet both emerge from the same social order—one that conditions individuals to either assimilate into its hierarchy or escape it entirely, rather than reconstruct a sovereign framework of their own.
Internal and external antagonists therefore mirror one another. Their behaviors are not oppositional but reflexive, produced by the same environment and governed by the same pressures. Both are reacting to the U.S. colonial structure. All of these forces—internal and external—are responses to a single, central architecture of domination.
Under proscriptive remediation, the objective is not punishment but conversion into a stabilized civic role or removal from influence. Each internal threat has only one acceptable outcome.
Post-Remediation Roles

The Broker is stripped of external leverage and compelled into transparent service.
A Steward manages internal resources under oversight, with no foreign alignment, no private gatekeeping, and no symbolic authority beyond function. - Divester → Investor
This remains correct.
The Divester is neutralized only when capital, labor, loyalty, and presence are reinvested cultural, locally and measurably. No sentiment. No optics. Only return. - Tether → Guest
The Guest either earns residency through contribution and accountability or is removed from internal spaces.
Residency requires stake, consequence, and continuity. - Infiltrator / Saboteur → Expelled
There is no reintegration pathway.
The Subverter is identified, documented, isolated, and denied access permanently. Their function is hostile by design. - Proxy → Rehabilitant
The Carrier is not destroyed but contained and treated.
Through cultural restoration, rites, education, and discipline, they may re-enter as a functional member—or remain quarantined from influence.
In short:
Steward. Investor. Resident. Expelled. Rehabilitant.
Not all are enemies.
Not all are savable.
Each is dealt with according to function, not intent.
